Unfortunately blogs such as this can become magnets for spam, as various two bit blogs try to get links back to themselves by posting comments on this site, in the hope you may visit them. As I’m getting fed up of removing half a dozen spam comments a day, I have now turned comments off.

Happy New Year!
Jan 2nd, 2011 by sandrine
Best wishes to all in this new year 2011.
The year started well with a good turnout at the first Frostbite of 2011. A reasonably mild and dry day allowed some fun and good shooting. This was followed by some well deserved soup/roll/tea/cake (not necessarily in that order…).
Well done to Rob whose shoulder copped with the whole shoot!
A very good potential quote was expressed but as an over18 one, it is unprintable…
Next Frostbite very soon, let’s make it an even better turnout!

BOH Xmas 2010
Following a couple of very busy Beginners’ Courses, welcome to our new members!!
Previous newsletters’ highlights were often the ‘Quote of the Month’. I suggest starting this again and will welcome any witnessed quotes.
The first one to feature is:
‘There is something quite intimate in putting someone’s arrows in their quiver…’ of the newly joined Tony.
November ’10 Tiddler
Dec 5th, 2010 by sandrine
Winter (although officially still Autumn only…) is upon us. Ideal for a little tiddling indoors on Thursdays!
The archer who scored best over a minimum of 2 Tiddlers in November is David Stanley.
Congratulations to David who can collect and keep the Tiddler’s Trophy for this month.
Le Tiddler
Jun 13th, 2010 by sandrine
Oh well, website photo retrieval seems to be troublesome to hard-working Web Administrator Petras. So, Le Tiddler Archers are posted again:
Well done to John W., the very first March Tiddler Best Archer, with a single score of 273.Then the rules were updated for fairness: the winning score is calculated on the total of the 2 highest scores made by an archer on the Tiddler.
To entertain ourselves a bit more, Vix has kindly offered her creative skills to challenge us to a ‘Guess Who Tiddler’ photo.
So, here is the April Winner:
The April winning score was a total of 469. Well done Mystery Archer!
The true identity of the April Tiddler best archer is to be revealed next week…

Time For Plan B
Jun 5th, 2010 by admin
It looks like I won’t be recovering our Newsletter/Blog from our old hosting provider Weycrest – as they have gone bust. If you want to check out the list of unhappy people see http://www.webhostingstuff.com/review/Weycrest.html . Luckily our Bowmen of Harrow domain was registered in my name, so I was able to approach the regulatory body Nominet and transfer it to our new host, having recognised that the Weycrest ship was sinking. Some people haven’t been so lucky and are now locked in lengthy disputes.
All this means I will now go to Plan B, and just re-post the 30th Anniversary photos, and carry on from there. I was hoping to get back some of the money paid for hosting, but no chance now. Luckily this only amounts to around thirty quid. At least we have a reliable web host now (fingers crossed!).
What happened to the newsletter???
Jun 1st, 2010 by petras
Sorry folks, but all the previous content of this blog has been left trapped on Weycrest’s server (we used to use Weycrest as our web host, until one hot day on May 23rd when all their servers went down for over a week). I have now moved our website to be hosted by Tsohost, but I still have to recover all our blog content from Weycrest once they get all their servers up.
