Joining The Club

If you choose to join the club after your course, you must shoot 5 new members sessions, observed by experienced club members upon joining (these sessions currently run on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 18:30-20:30). Following your new member sessions you will be able to use the club during our organised hours (typically weekday evenings, Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday).

The cost of full adult membership for new members is £196 per year (this includes affiliations to Archery GB, Middlesex County Archery Association and Southern Counties Archery Society). For those joining part way through a membership year (September-September) club fees are calculated on a pro-rata basis. Junior membership for new members is £69.00.

Archery Equipment

To help ease you into the sport and enable you to get shooting as soon as possible, we now provide all equipment necessary during these 5 sessions, including bows, arrows and safety equipment, providing you have completed a beginners course with us.

Please don’t go out and buy a bow before the course, or even during the course, as everything is provided. You will be better placed to know what you need if you want to continue archery after the course.

FAQ’s For Course Attendees

If you have booked a course with us we can’t wait to welcome you to the club! You’ll need to be aware of a few things which are covered below.

Wear close fitting clothing. During colder months bring several layers if possible. This is because the venue is not a modern building and although we have heating it can become a little chilly.

Appropriate clothing:

Tight fitting clothing is also important to minimise the bow string catching sleeves.

Spectators:

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate spectators owing to the size of our venue.

Junior supervision & safeguarding:

All juniors must be accompanied by their adult at all times throughout the course.

Facilities:

We have a kitchenette and a WC on site, light refreshments will be provided during the course.

Venue:

We have free parking on site & our venue address is as follows;

The John Lyon School Sports Ground

Sudbury Hill, Harrow, HA1 3SB

Risk Assessment:
